Canewdon Church EVP Recordings

The village of Canewdon, Essex in the UK is steeped in witchcraft history. I have been there several times and I grew up not too far from there. I always hear reports of sightings and possible paranormal activity in the area and i always find it is one of my favourute places to go. The EVP's in this video was from a short daylight walk around in the Saint Nicholas Church yard on 22nd October 2009.

EVP or electronic voice phenomena as it is known is thought to be voices of those passed away trying to communicate with us captured on electronic devices. When trying to capture EVP, you can sit and ask questions or leave an audio recording device in a quiet room. When you play these recordings back, sometimes you will hear voices that were not present at the time, answering your questions or talking in general. This area of paranormal research was popularised when the film White Noise was released in 2005 starring Michael Keaton. The most popular method of capturing EVP is by using ordinary tape or digital audio dictaphone's or recording devices. One of the pioneers in this field was Dr Konstantin Raudive (1909 - 1974) and his experiments are still much talked about today.

just a quick comment,I was in a very old house in co longford where some local guys were shooting a film.and I had a camcorder filming behind the scenes for the DVD.

2 nights ago I was watching my footage where I was in a childs playroom,with my camcorder just filming all old toys and old doll houses and while watching this recording I can hear a childs voice in the recording as clear as day,but im not to sure what is being siad and I know at the time I was alone because it was only last year.

@tonyurmate Hi Tony, if your having trouble hearing it, there is a free tool available that I use quite a lot. Its called AoA audio extractor and it saves the audio in your video as a seperate audio file so that you can examine it easier in any sort of audio editing software like Audacity etc. It may help you :)

Been the Canewdon but not in October its looks Haunted the graves are very old and some aren't straight. My BF took a picture of the alter 2 times one nothings there 2nd one you see something but not sure what it is....

me and my mates went there at midnight and walked around the church , we filmed it and on our way out the church a white shadow walked behind us i screamed and shat my self lol

@Grunow101 This why I believe that hobbists are all to ready to believe it and they are already intranced by the idea. Hence it's crazy shows that only purvey fear. Something a Ghost hobbist said that these "spirits: need and use this energy to, MANIFEST? I would go to Mars and notices a little Creaturem then go right up to it and try to shake it tenticles or ask it to "hurt" me like the fool "Zak" on GH. I have been trying to get a little more serious. ARGH!

I think one of them is definantly just repeatitive imprint on the ether. U know none intellegent "marks: of a memory. I think it was said to be saying "[don't] kill me" but u didn't hear the faint word at the begining. I do think that there could be trumatic memories placed as a energy "recording". that may physically be possible.

i have been to this place and it is peacefulat the church .

there are spirits that remain around the fields surrounding it.

i personally heard a young girls laughter as if with a male partner

there is no evil in this place
