The Globalize This team (Brady and Jeremy) have just returned from the states where they picked up 3 new filters to try out in the village. The filters are the Sawyer Point One filters. http://www.sawyerpointonefilters.com/
Out of all the filter technologies I've tested over the years, these filters outshine everything from biosand to ceramic filters. The filters are a one time cost, can be reused over and over, filter 20x faster than ceramic filters, and are small and compact. We are incredibly excited about providing these filters to the people in Mexico who do not have clean water.

  • Priming would probably be a good idea, but I didn't see it in the literature. But I would imagine the first liter of water to not be as optimal.

Good find on the dirty water bucket! Brady and I were laughing, wondering if anyone would notice that. If you have a good eye, you would also see that I'm wearing two different shirts in the video.

  • @maxinpains Awesome idea man. When I visited the village again, a lot of the o-rings were cracked. May have to tell Sawyer to modify their instructions.

  • i'll attach that O-ring inside of the bucket. prevent sun UV damage cracks on o-ring significantly . also, I'll add the activated charcoal filter right after the sawyer filter. Taste the difference.Pro survivor.

  • Good work, Jeremy! Keep going!

  • A comment: From what I've found in my research, these filters also need to be primed before use, correct? Also, you re-used the dirty water bucket for your clean water... not a good idea!

A question: I'm looking into getting a Sawyer filter, with the goal of filtering lake/rain water for drinking. Would the .1 filter be ok, or would you recommend the .02, which also filters out viruses?

Thanks for posting this video, and thanks for the help!
