In the afternoon of Oct 2, 2005, on her way from Budapest/HU to Vienna/AT, with 77 passengers and 47 crewmembers, a fire broke out in her kitchen. When crew realized they could not put it off, captain manouvered Oltenita to bank where all passengers and crewmembers could escape - except for one, group singer, that was later found death in her cabin. Neither a massive force of 150 firemen managed to put the flames of, Oltenita Burnt down completely and (semi-)sunk next morning.Text By:HomoFaber(www.shipspotting.com)
