I flew LAX-SNA a few years ago on the same aircraft type. It was 11 minutes from wheels up to touchdown.

People who fly this route are not flying just to go to LAX. I'd say 99% of the passengers are connecting beyond LAX and choose to fly out of SNA so they don't have to drive to LAX and deal with that mess of an airport.

Another short flight Skywest did i remember was LA/Ontario to LAX. Literally 15 minute flight. But i am sure that was only for people to connect seeing how i was returning to portland and there wasnt many portland return flights

Cool video. Seems like this flight works well for those transferring in LAX. On the other hand, I dont think anyone would want to pay for a ticket from LAX-SNA vise-versa....just to spend 5-10 mins at the security checkpoint, another 15-20 mins waiting to board the plane & getting everyone seated, 10 or more minutes to taxi to the runway, 11 or more minutes in the air, 5-30 minutes taxiing to the ramp, exiting the aircraft, and waiting for ground transportation.

I don't quite recall, but does anybody know the average price of a roundtrip ticket (taxes included) on a Skywest flight from SNA-LAX back when they had that route?

Great vid. Excellent. I've flown many of these EMB 120's until Continental replaced them with the commuter jets on the routes I fly. I really do miss these turbo props.... although at the time I didn't think I would.

yea but if you have a connecting flight out of lax and you live in santa ana it is worth going out of orange county to lax to where ever you destantion is.
