Her and Baltacha are pathetic excuses for professionals.

Hmmm, i see your point but I do think anne (and baltacha actually) are slight exceptions. While I agree that they are both "average top 100" players now, I just feel had they come through a more rigourous tennis system they both could have achieved more, perhaps not grand slam/tier 1 success but certainly had a more consistent top 40 and upwards career with continuous showings on the WTA tour u know!? Just my opinion tho, LTA needs a serious shakeup if it wants Grand Slam champions!

you can easily say that about every player then...they all havnt reached their potential because of relative failings in the country's tennis system
anne has a certain amount of talent and potential..which i think she has displayed up until now. theres not much improving beyond how she is playing now...she's not a grand slams contender, she'll never win a wta tier 1 tournament..she's just an average top 100 professional...

13 seconds, loving the british love from the luckie crew!

Keothavong was never gonna win this match. Granted, Venus is a bit upset-prone early on in majors sometimes (ie. Suarez Navarro this year at AO), but at Wimbledon, nobody messes with Venus except maybe Serena.

I was there for that match. First set was key once Williams got that there was no stoppin her really but Ann played well.
-
anne defeated sania mirza 7-6 6-1 good for her.

The British player played alright but Venus was just getting warmed up. Once Venus got going the match was OVER.
This match just shows anne's potential. I'd say had she not been brought up in the staid LTA system she could have achieved much more and much sooner as well! Good luck to her now in the next few months coming back, hope she picks up where she left off!! :D
