  • Fred Wilsson said there... "...with new John Carmack Magic, it adds all the details back in" - funny :D

  • Awesome vid, hope they release the source code soon!

  • Source code will be out as soon as RAGE or Doom 4 Are out! that's what Carmack does. releases source code of previous engine when new game is out!

  • Yeah I've got the Quake III source open as I type this ;)

  • Are you Rendering Engine programming fan too ? for how long have you been programming ? are you in the team ?

  • what can you do with the source code?

  • Use it! see how game was built, edit it, improve it, add features or use existing in your projects. Basicly if you are a game engine programmer - to see John Carmack's Engines source code is one of the best schools you can have.

  • HUGE CRT

  • @88Cortex i,m sorry! i will stick to mapping and texturering.. its so much fun!

  • @erikouwehand I don't want to disappoint you and I usually do not flame others but, considering the nature of your question, please take a basic programming class before thinking about reading Carmack's code and making any sense of it at all.

  • 00:14 where I can get that amazing figure of Arch-Vile?

  • *to read*

  • @JurisL85 what programm do you need the read the source code? if it comes out? c++?

  • the monitor Carmack has in front of him must be a 21". Monitors that size even in 2004 could cost more than a grand (the Sony Trinitron one cost 1600 or so). How times change.

  • you're witnessing a real life, living genius.

  • i want one of those dolls
