WFAA-8 Reporter Brett Shipp examines the questionable use of City of Irving funds on $1,000-per-night hotel rooms and $100 steak dinners rather the purpose for which they were originally intended: The engineering, architectural and professional service fees for the Las Colinas Entertainment Center. Shipp reports that although the city's development agreement limits reimbursement to only the design and construction of the facility, city funds have also paid for salaries, office overhead, meals, airfare, and movies and alcohol. Irving city council members and residents are raising concerns about the apparent lack of oversight and audits by the city.
