This is a video from a trackday at Sturup raceway arranged by Sydskånes EMSE, 070603. Wheeliedevil attended with his Yamaha 450 supermoto in the fastest group, white.

@Robinatorxl Depends on the track... a mid-sized SMR bike will be faster on tight/technical tracks than superbikes purely because it is low weight, turns well, and geared to top out around 100-110. If you have a track with a 1 mi straight though then of course the superbikes will win, but only because of the horsepower advantage.

supermotos are good for ragging on urban roads but the sports bikes are the kings on the track. if this supermoto rider rode a sportbike around the track he would have gone faster.(thats why in races they use sportsbikes not supermotos)

Bruno937; The most important is the rider not the bike. Probably the yamaha guy is a very fast in any bike

This was public molestation!! I have a Bmw supermoto and have raced a few r6s and in my opinion this track day shouldn't have mixed supermotos and superbikes. It's like sprint runners racing bowling players, not cool and demoralizing for the superbike riders. Ahemmm.. I've spoken !!
