Myself as a muso, sometimes you don't care about the audience because you already have the money in your pocket. Jst do the paid gig and its over. Also the venue was a Working-mans Club, drinkers and dancers together, whether they like you or not, know who you even are, those patrons all pay for your gig. I pick my venues, audience carefully. For my music niche, I avoid these places like the plague!! As intelligent as Kimbra is, she knows all this and she would have enjoyed the experience.

I just hope the stage lights were up, the house lights were down, and the monitors were cranked so they didn't have to hear trendy hipster douches talking during a show. I've had it happen, and the only thing worse is when you end a song and every one stops talking and stares at you like a deer in headlights. NOT fun.
