Soldiers criticize Delta for extra baggage fee

A group of soldiers expressed their unhappiness with Delta Airlines on YouTube after being charged extra baggage fees when returning home from Afghanistan. Jeff Glor reports.

The media is being had on the story about Delta airlines "over-charging" for extra baggage. What ever amount the soldiers paid, they will be reimbursed by the Army when they submit their government travel claim. It never failed, in my more than thirty years in the US Navy, to be reimbursed for travel expenses. It made no difference if it was a permanent move or temporary duty anywhere in the world.

These guys are whiners or ignorant.

You all know you can FILE A CLAIM on base! You would have been reimbursed! I HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIME's WE ARE ALL ISSUED GOV'T CREDIT CARDS, for this crap at the airport! @Seafloat1 Precisely. They still get reimbursed. Why should they be treated any differently than anyone else with regards to baggage fees? Don't they take up the same amount of space? By "they", I mean "we". Taking inflation into consideration, air fares are actually dirt cheap today. Cheaper than they were when I was a kid.

The sentiments in the comments section here are basically opposite the other video (which was the full video, not the news), and I was just about the only one saying they were stupid for yelling at Delta for honoring the contract the US government set up with them - before comments got disabled, anyway.
