English Translation by Ramesh Krishnakumar, to the stirring rendering by Jayasree and Syama , (www.musicoceanonline.com)

This Divine Hymn written by Sage Agastya about the Goddess of learning is considered to be powerful and beneficial to those who recite or listen. It bestows the power to understand and progress in studies and development of artistic talents. It helps the mind to blossom with the great qualities of concentration, creativity, discrimination and attention. It will inspire one to initiate service projects that serve humanity, and become spiritually mature with humility, sincerity, gentleness, and truthfulness.
Saraswati is considered to be the divine consort of Lord Brahma, the Creator of the universe which means that the learning power is fundamental in all beings. Saraswati literally means the flowing one.

  • Nishesh jadyapaha means one who destroys all ignorence or all hinderence on way to knowledge ..correct me if i am wrong

  • @MrDhurandhar

    I have interpreted it as

Nishesh means endless, always ..... I used the word "forever"

    aJadya - power of alertness

    (Jadya - sluggishness)

Paha - maker, giver - I used the word maintainer

This " maintain my power of alertness"

    Could have other translations too

    - I thought a sense of alterness is the key in the ability to learn quick

  • can some1 help me with d lyrics??? do support!!!cheers....

  • You are doing a great service to society nrkkvsnlcom. sharma

  • Today on Vasant Panchmi I wish to state that Saraswati being seated on white lotus symbolyses that e aspire towards spriuality.Lotus is found in marsh symbolysing earth or world .It remains pure white and symbolises spritual growth.Budhhist worship lotus too and it is considered sacred

  • Jai Maa Saraswati <3

  • requests, to request --------every one was not born with the god'good grace and nature's good grace of good qualities and the good fate and luck to have good inteligence ,good wisdom ,good qualities ,and circuimstances not to commit ever any mistakes or sins .

  • request and pray ---every human every soul either good or bad ,angle or evil ,sinner, demon , god or devil every creature ,every one want to live as a good humanbeing --please save

request----instead of killing ,spoiling lives, destroying ,sending under earth ,hells ,if some place is given far away from india .and some thing are done for better to improve the qualities of humans and souls .so that every one can live .

  • @nrkkvsnlcom Thx for posting this nice version! But as to the translation, MrDhurandhar is certainly right. If it would be "ajaDya", the "a" in "nihsheshAjaDya." would have to be long because of sandhi, but as far as I can hear (and as the metre requires) it is short, so निःशेष-जड्यापहा
