@marshamk I just got the tripod a couple of week ago. The smell is awful. It has some weird metallic/petroleum/chemical smell. The tripod is awesome, but the smell is mutant!

@nevadaxtube it should i have an old manfrotto/bogen 3021 with panhead...and the weight is a huge turnoff. PERFECT tripod amazingly stable and professional but lugging it around will make you want to just leave it behind.

I decided to order one today... thanks again for your video. I toyed with getting a lighter travel tripod - maybe will do that, too, at some future date.

@marshamk screws ended up being fine and the smell did go away after about a week. I think you will like it as long as you consider what I told you; the weight.

Thanks for the video. I'm still trying to decide. The 10 lb weight scares me.

@nevadaxtube Yeah, you should worry a bit. I have not weighed it, but you can look at the shipping weight on amazon and that should be close to its actual weight. It is not 10lbs maybe 8ish

Thanks for posting this...like you, I'm a hobbyist and not ready (yet) to fork out the big bucks for a lighter, more travel-friendly tripod. I'm still looking around, but this is near the top of my list.
