Gaurs in many places make up a large portion of the tigers diet. Infact the average prey kill for tigers of nagerhole is 401 kg.

Gaurs are nothing to tigers really it's a common prey item. An Btw Bull gaurs reach 3,000 plus pounds, bull black rhino size. much talller and much bigger the cape buffalos which are typically 900 lbs. Don't compare a small cape buffalo to a bull gaur the largest cattle in the world. Infact don't compare a cape buffalo to much the larger water buffalo with much deadlier horns
But anyways gaurs and water buffalos are common prey item for tigers.

What is impressive is that the monsters from Kaziranga Park prey on adult rhinos and even kill adult elephants. There prey average is estimated at over 500 kg.

Infact they rountinely prey on adult rhinos in Kaziranga Park.
