Sociability tests, as the one seen here, gauge a mouses preference toward spending time with sniffing another mouse versus spending more time sniffing an empty cage. Normally, a mouse should prefer to spend more time with the fellow mouse. Spending more time sniffing an empty cage is considered abnormal. This video shows socialization drills in mice involved in the study.
