ARTeC now has the ability to perform computer assisted accident reconstructions and simulations using the industry standard 2-d crash simulation program, PC-Crash. This is based on the principle of conservation of momentum and gives the user the opportunity to try many more iterations than is practical without such a program. While it is certainly not a panacea and still depends on inputs from the user, it can provide very useful information in some cases. Two examples of simulations generated by PC-Crash are attached, one of an offset head-on collision and one of a crash at an intersection.
