Concerto en Sol mineur pour orgue, orchestre à cordes et timbales
Konzert g-Moll für Orgel, Streichorchester und Pauken
Concerto in G Minor for Organ, Strings and Timpani
Michael Murray, orgue/Orgel/organ
Organ at Symphony Hall, Boston
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Robert Shaw
I performed this in 1993 at my conducting debut with the now deceased organist Frederick deBoer. While there are no paid orchestra members here, the orchestra went on to being a professional i.e. "paid" ensemble. All 4 parts are attached.

May be it is a little bit slow but still it sounds awesome. Divine music...

I remember first hearing this concerto when I was in high school. It was a televised performance at St. George's Episcopal Church, in New York. Everyone thought it was so shocking and dissonant, but I remember loving it. Now, some forty plus years later, I find it to be incredibly beautiful and very romantic. It reaches into my soul, and grips my heart in a way that most composers can't. He was called half monk, and half guttersnipe. Sounds a bit like myself. What a wonderful composer. RIP

I can't believe Shaw conducted this?! Yes it's just too slow. I have the recording of this with Maurice Durufle as soloist and it's so much more vital, the music just sweeps over you. This is kinda tedious...
