@j80 Thank you. We loved both Kyoto and Nara in our visit last year and want to come back for more. Honen-In looks like a smaller, more rural temple, which seems more intimate and possibly even more spiritual than the grand shrines and temples.
well. hope You can visit Kyoto and enjoy the city.I also really recommend to visit Nara, which had been Capital before Kyoto.it takes one hour or so to get there.The city is not big at all, but very relaxed atmosphere.
There are tons of historical places, temples, and Japan's national treasures ets...

it is HONEN-IN temple which is located in east side of Kyoto and also close to GINKAKU-JI temple, Silver Pavilion.

I want to visit it! And by Shinkansen, of course!
