Lion King See & Say Mechanical Sound Toy

Well, they're getting smarter! After years of making the toys with those thin pull-strings which inevitably wore out and broke, the maker of this toy finally decided to use a heavy duty (I'm assuming) plastic handle. But, nowadays, kids won't even look at a toy that doesn't use batteries, or is not in any way electronic, digital, or doesn't hook up to a game console or color TV!

Yes, kids would spin on the "sit and spin" too fast causing them to go flying off and most hit they're head on somthing so hard that it cracked their skulls.

The first See&Say toys were tough you drop those dam things off one of the upper floors of Marina City and they wouldn't break.

God.. Im only 18 and I remember my favorite toy was the "Sit and spin"! Now it's been banned and made illegal because kids would spin too fast and crack their skulls. I miss my sit and spin...:p

That is correct about the current See and Says using digital voice samples. And they upgraded from a pull string to a lever around the very late 80's.

to be honest, back in the day when I was little, I would get one of these for each birthday/christmas I would have, so I probably have about 5 or 6 of these mechanical toys laying in the attic.

the new see n says suck i like the old phonograph ones better, they should have put some of the lion king songs on this one but you only get what 5 seconds of recording per clip on these that would work on the newer computer chip based ones

One of the last phonograph based toys before being all replaced by computer chips. I believe the current See and Says now use digital voice samples, instead of the wind up record player tech this one uses. In fact, I still remember See and Says that had a pull string instead of the lever.
