The German War Files - StuG III And IV Assault Guns
The story of the StuG or sturmgeschütz. Originally built for use as an armoured infantry support vehicle, this was a common sight in the second half of the War in Europe. Used as a substitute for the Panzer, it is claimed to have been responsible the destruction of around 20,000 Allied tanks.

The assault guns were very good value for money, defeintely one of Germany's more sensible AFV projects. Guderain even wanted to turn all Panzer production over to StuG's as things went downhill in 1944.

I have the entire series on VHS...Die Deutschen Panzer, I missed getting the Lutwaffe series... they do not make them anymore I guess. Or at least I have not been able to find the video's.
I plan on taking my VHS tapes and creating DVD's of them. ITs a great seires.
