RETRO IZ IN!

... on the screen - loading Alias Maya 5.0 Irix version.

Specs of this system:
- CPU: risc/Mips R10000 195 Mhz
- RAM: ~1G (896 Mb)
- GFX: MAXimum Impact with TRAM option (hardware texturing) up to 1600x1200 res. - Open GL 1.1 in hardware. 36 bit color depth.
- HDD: Seagate Cheetah 10.7 (73G, 10Krpm) scsi.
- LAN: 100Mbit/via EISA card.
- Audio - onboard / up to 48 Khz full CD quality stereo.
- Mouse/Keybd - standard PS/2
- Monitor out - analog - 13w3 standard, but with an S/VGA adaptor it hook`s any modern flat panel (LCD/TFT).
- OS: SGI Irix version 6.5.22m (native) it supports debian Linux but is buggy
- Fun: endless
- Price for what i will give it away: no such price.

- Software i usual use: Alias Maya 6, Power Animator, Adobe Photoshop 3, Lightwave 5, Firefox, Thunderbird, lot of fun games from that era, lot of fun Irix demos, Nekoware tools, etc ...
- Expected price on eBay: from $10 - $300+ depends on general condition and installed features ... as the time pass prices in rising, resources wanishing.
- Get one of yours, save one more from scrapping, save one more for future generations/learning/historic purposes.
- Have endless fun ...

  • Now that's what I like to see. Someone impressed enough with their computer as to make a video of it. I might do one of my Sun Microsystems box.

  • well... this machine is not an usual one, when released was the fastest desktop/graphic workstation on the planet, priced over $40,000 so why not make an nice video of it :)

  • nice ! we still hold one of these in our production studio for CAD and basic solids ... they re indestructible ... compared to this my brand new PC is plain garbage ...
