This video describes the origin of the code associated with the Somerton Man mystery and the 2009 attempt to crack the code at the University of Adelaide.
the line which is crossed out may not be crossed out but underlined. There are 3 underlines in the code if you look at it. The 'x' above the O may not be an x but the french circumflex, or ^. One more thing: lining the letters up in a matrix shows that rows, column 7 has all A's in it. That is all
@MrDavidRamm It was written in pencil and it was very faint. The picture shown in my video was a copy that had been traced over with some sort of dark pen. Derek (our professor) thinks that it was traced over on a negative and then developed into a positive photo as some of the lines are more clear on a negative shot.
This case really is very intriging. I have to say though, the connection between the Rubaiyat, Jestyn, Alf Boxall and the unknown man is very suspicious. Moreover, Alf Boxall does look a little like the unknown man from the 1970s report on the case.
I do have a question (or two) about the code though, well not the code as such. Do you know what sort of pen or pencil was used to write it? Or is this a rubbbing of an inprint or somthing like that? I ask the first question because some characters seem to be almost bold, and the second to establish what the non text marks are.
At any rate this is going to be on mind for a while now so if nothing else it will keep me entertained.
I noticed a couple things about the 'code' :
the line which is crossed out may not be crossed out but underlined. There are 3 underlines in the code if you look at it. The 'x' above the O may not be an x but the french circumflex, or ^. One more thing: lining the letters up in a matrix shows that rows, column 7 has all A's in it. That is all

@notagain001 It was HIS book. The "Tamam Shud" part that was found in his pocket was ripped off the book.

How do we know the code found in this book is connected with Somerton man?

Tamam shud in persian means "It ended"
You mentioned nothing about that!
And the paper that he used was from a persian poem book!

Best honors project I have heard of to date.
