@fleshtheworld I don't know if Dylan recorded it first, but he wrote it.

I like this version WAY better!

Forgive me grammar omg this keyboard!

This is the first version I heard of this song longtime ago. But i always think its bob dylan singing it... :/ though I know it not. Finally heard Bob's version today and it is sooo different. Thia version is the best.
Correct me if im wrong, but im sure it was bob dylan who sang it first, wikipedia says so, and i know its ore trust worthy then any scholar claim.

Great little tune is right. You have a feel for the dusty little corners.

loving it ...

@uclrichard, the Country Gentlemen as configured here were only one quarter redneck. Left to right: Eddie Adcock, banjo, was from rural Virginia. John Duffey, mandolin, was the son of a tenor for New York's Metropolitan Opera and grew up in DC and NY. Tom Gray, bass, born in Chicago, raised in DC, the son of a lobbyist. Charlie Waller, raised in Lake Charles LA and Baltimore MD. And ask Mr. Zimmerman what HE thinks of bluegrass in general and the Gentlemen in particular.

@walkersdad01 That's correct, except the spelling. From left to right: Eddie Adcock, John Duffey, Tom Gray, Charlie Waller. One of the best bands ever.
-
@walkersdad01 John Duffey was in the Gentlemen from about 57-69. His Seldom Scene bandmate, Tom Gray (I just call him dad, I'm lucky that way), was also in the Gents from 59-64. I believe this was recorded in 65. I have the vinyl at home

NOT the Scene. Listen to the harmonies. You can hear Charlie. That's Eddie's archtop. This is from the Rebel album The Traveler, the first one after Ed Ferris replaced my dad. The Scene recorded it later because it's a great song.
This is a very early pic of the Country Gentlemen. They are, left to right, Eddie Edcock, John Duffy(singing lead here), Tom Grey, and Charlie Waller.
This song was recordered around 1966, with a slightly different lineup. Tom Grey was no longer bass player, Ed Ferris was. It os irignally from the LP, The Traveler and other Favorites.
