Women should register for the draft, and on top of that they should be able to and allowed to serve on front lines. Otherwise their not truly equal to men.

@bweazel That wasn't his point. Sure, a female and aim and shoot as well as a man, but a 150lb woman isn't going to be able to pull a wounded 240lb man out from fire. IT JUST WON'T HAPPEN.

A male's natural instinct is to protect females, so if she gets in deep shit, the guy will most likely get himself and others killed trying to help her.

@bweazel If you run out of ammo or lose your guns or something, and it goes to hand to hand, I would feel a lot safer with a team of men. I guess get me killed is the wrong way to say it.

@krislejeune1 A woman can aim a gun just as well as you can. This is not the Dark Ages where groups of men rushed a field and brute strength determined winners. In today's war, all you need to do is point and pull. Now, if you want to play white knight, and try to protect women, yes, you're going to get yourself killed. I'm curious though, maybe I left something out or I'm missing something, how would a woman "get you killed" in modern warfare?

@krislejeune1 You are not any more special than a man. You can die just the same as a man and should not be spared from that just because you are a woman. You want equality? Own up to it. A woman's emotional response is that way solely because of people like you refusing to make them serve in combat positions. If you stopped raising them to be spoiled princesses, they would stop behaving like they are.

Women should absolutely have to register for the draft. You want equality, do what the men have to do. And, shave your heads, just like the men.

Women shouldn't assume combat postions, but should be drafted. Any well trained man could eaisily destroy a woman in hand to hand combat. Plus the womans emotional reponse is to cry and scream. A man will fight.

Obama sabotaged his own point that women have (presumably equal) obligations when he threw in the phrase "not necessarily in combat roles". Equal military obligations does extend to combat; otherwise, the obligations aren't equal.

Obama's answer was chivalry at its most cowardly.
