From an old movie I used to love that WB *finally* decided to release on DVD. Annoyingly, the soundtrack, which had been available for years, did not contain a certain piece from the movie I've always found hauntingly beautiful. Danny Elfman is a friggin genius with his music. Anyhoo...the piece has been stuck in my head for years and I actually bought the DVD almost exclusively for this musical piece. The movie is awesome too, but I had to have this. So I figured I'd upload the scene for those of you who are fans of the movie Wisdom. FYI, you can purchase Wisdom on DVD by clicking here:
http://tinyurl.com/WISDOM-MOVIE (sorry for the tinyurl thing but the link was too long)
There are literally no extras. Nothing. Just the movie in its entirety. Even the chapters are evenly spaced out. Someone just literally converted the master footage to a DVD and packaged it. But it is the movie...it's up to you if you wanna spend the $26 or so it'll cost (price + S&H).
Regardless, enjoy the clip!

I agree. I was 16 at the time and I'll always remember seeing that opening in a darkened theater. The music and story was intense.

  • the theme song is Main Titles available on iTunes - look for Wisdom Soundtrack. I just bought it. Loved that song from when I first saw the movie. One of the best opening sequences ever (thanks to the music)

  • I own the soundtrack to this film, on CD, and I completely agree with you about the fact that this cue should have made the final cut; I guess Varese Sarabande - this soundtrack's record label - though it was "best" not to do so.

Nevertheless, the soundtrack for this film deserves a lot of recognition, especially for the man behind this wonderful musical composition, Danny Elfman.

  • Fantastic!

  • Not digging Danny Elfman's music from this one. Nice try Danny. NEXT!!
