Science Museum / D&AD

This is my response to the animation brief, sponsored by the Science Museum, for the D&AD Student Awards 2009.

The brief states: Create a short animation (no more than 90 seconds) that will capture the imagination of 8-14-year-olds, taking the bizarre, wonderful, non-existent existence of the black hole as your starting point.

When I visited the Science Museum as part of my research, it was clear that the thing children were most excited by was doing the hands on experiments and creating the science for themselves. For this reason my concept is all about showing children experiments that they can do, and will (hopefully) want to do, at home. My aim is to get them to experiment with science for themselves, and to get them to question how and why things happen.

My work has been selected as being amongst the best entries of the year, and has been awarded 'In-Book' status, and so will be featured in the 2009 Student Annual!
