A friend of mine had a friend flying to America from England for the first time, and I did not know him. The only thing I had ever said to him was over IM asking him to marry me. We thought it'd be a good way to welcome him to show up with me in a wedding dress saying I was serious with a ring, dress and all =) so yes, it is all a joke..i didn't even know him
