FLEXIBLE WEAPON
SHORT SHOULDER SCARF (Sesandang)

In Brunei the short shoulder scarf used by men is known as "Sesandang".

In Malaysia / Indonesia its called "Selendang".

The clip is a highlight from a 2 days - March 2009 Germany Seminar.

This seminar was hosted and organized by Cristian Velici in Regenberg, Germany.

Total hours trained - 10 hrs in 2 days.

------------------------------------------------

Due to the innocent nature of the shoulder scarf;

# ITS THE ONLY "LEGAL DEFENSIVE WEAPON" THAT CAN BE CARRIED ON A PLANE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

# AN UNTRAINED PERSON CANT USE IT AGAINST YOU AND WILL HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO USE IT.

The simplicity of the flexible weapon makes it an effective weapon and a training aid for other close quarter flexible weapon.

What makes the flexible weapon powerful & effective is the understanding of entries, breaking of balance & leverage. If done correctly, no excessive strength is needed as shown in the video.

APPRECIATION

I would like to express foremost my appreciation to Cristian Velici and those who came from far away to attend the seminar.

To all that assisted me in the demos, Chris, Henk, Evi, Badr, Willy, Julian, Grant, etc, especially for Joseph who was a great reciever, my apologies for the accident "wink-wink".

Thank you Alexander Neppl for the great video footages. You are the best.

My apologies if I miss anyone.

This seminar like my other events aims primarily to raise the curiosity and awareness among people from different nationalities about the martial heritage and culture of Brunei Darussalam in general.

  • @PendekarBobbe correct guru bobee, highkick like cocrop?...it wont work in the sandy/muddy/shallow water surface, thats why we dont have alot of high kick in silat. for anybody that think silat is not for real: we are not always fight in a hard, plain and clean surface like in the ring /arena. when we fight in jungle, where the surface is slippery high kick is a silly move. thats is one reason that U should stop to believe MMA fighter is the bad ass fighter of the world

  • @eskerikia a real combat situation your gonna most likely run into street fighters who will most likely try to box and use limited kicks...a pro boxer practices hours upon hours and learns how to fight really well.this type of fighting needs double or even triple the effort because there are so many other moves and most using 2,3 strikes at the same time. once you comprehend the movements though and practice it's like taking candy from a baby..really good stuff if you put in the work

  • looks like wing chun but very good still none the less....nice video

  • @dtraindoes And it was awesome. It is always an awesome time training with this rare master.

  • @eskerikia trust me, i've seen my friends training bujinkan taijutsu and the rope (belt, scarf, tie, flexible whatever) techniques work if you are fast and know what you are doing. I've seen it work against completely resisting opponents.

  • Maul will be teaching the scarf in New York City on the weekend of November 20-21, I would recommend all who are interested to come.

  • GRAND MASTER!!

  • 3:25-3:28... what just happened? how the hell did he do that??

  • @karnebali are u learning any martial arts?
