White Water Kayak Coaching - Youth Action Wiltshire & Liquid Logistics

Video from a white water kayaking trip to West Wales, with a group from Youth Action Wiltshire and Wiltshire Youth Development Service. This project was supported by fund raising by Youth Action Wiltshire's Committee.

The group prepared for this experience, with coaching and practice on the Beaulieu River and later a warm up trip to the Nene white water centre. The group felt very welcomed by all at Llandysul paddlers, the base for two days, right next to the River Teifi.

People gain a lot from kayaking, especially if the level of challenge is pitched just right. During this programme, the coaching was designed to enable the group to effectively lead each other kayaking down sections of grade 2 white water. This level of responsibly, trust and personal focus enhances people's confidence and self esteem.

After the trip all the young people had something to feel really proud about. All that attended having given it their best effort in terms of personal performance and attention to kayak group safety.
