Ellerynum, it is always going to be necessary to walk in steps towards what we want. Obama recognizes this--so he cannot simply run for President and win by taking a position that half the nation sees as "extreme". It is much more effective to try to get as many on the "other" side as possible to begin to see things our way through educating them and showing that policies in our direction do not harm them. That way, instead of creating rabid opposition, you build an unstoppable movement!

It makes me sad to see Michael sell out on his green party values and endorse Obama. Okay, vote for him, fine, but write this song and what not??? I wonder what he'll have to say when Obama is bombing Afghanistan. It will be interesting...
