  • If the outtakes were in color, why wasn't the movie???

  • I don't know.

  • This Looks Really good, but there's no sound alas,so it's less effective. Can You Fix That?

  • I'm sorry, it's actually like that. Download it and you'll find out. Again, sorry.

  • No audio for me, also.

  • There actually is none.

  • It almost looks like they had fun shooting this, because they displayed the emotion and personality that the film ruthlessly and repeatedly insists you avoid!

  • Where...the HELL...did you find this?!

  • @servedwithasmile No, this was the film. An announcer filled in all of the commentary.

It is cheaper to film this way. Like silent films, the director could do live editing by telling the actors how to react etc. All of the information, in any language, was added later.

  • Anybody happen to know who the actress was playing "Daughter" ???

    She was pretty cute.......

  • @DrGregoryHouseIT It's possible that the original was filmed in color but subsequent copies done in b/w to save money.

  • @DetSonnyCrockett

many people back then didn't have colour TV because it was really expensive plus colour TV was not on mass production because they need to get rid of the black and white TV still selling first.

hence despite this being in colour the final product would always or mostly result in a black and white finish.

colour TV were not even affordable to everyone until 1970's.

  • @DetSonnyCrockett Because it was cheaper to produce b&w copies.

  • It seems the out takes spent more time on the girl compared to the rest of the members of the 'family'.

How many shots of her do we really need of her washing dishes, cutting cake and pouring coffee?

    Good find though.

  • @DetSonnyCrockett

I'll speculate that no color prints of the finished film have surfaced because, in those days, for the purposes this film was used for, it would have been too expensive to provide color prints. But obviously it was shot in color. It's a shame a full color print of the finished product has never shown up.

  • Aw, that laugh at 3:38 is just too cute. Too bad this wasn't the version most people saw (or the MST3K version)

  • @ :54 the phone isn't plugged in, it's a magic phone!

  • I can't tell if they're messing up! I'm sure they're not forgetting their lines.
