It's funny how people say "Get a better hobby" or "Crap explanation" even though they couldn't even get close to explaining it better plus comparing there hobby of figuring out tricks and explaining them to the public even though they are commenting about it on Youtube.

As best I can tell, it's likely a clever combination of pre-recorded footage and some green-screen choreography for the stage. If the camera was motion controlled during recording, they could easily match a green-screen shoot with it. I believe the audience with the initials and photo truly are random, but given the person in the box with him would have to know the secret, they're absolutely an accomplice. The white sheet pulls back quickly over the platform arm, with pyrotechnics, to hide them.

Only one problem with this explanation... I was one of the people that caught the ball, went up on stage, and gave him my initials... and I was not a plant. Plus there is no huge hanger as described next to the National Theater in Washington DC.
