A few months later, RCA recorded the evening show at Madison Square Garden on June 10, 1972. Its that version that RCA released. This performance was recorded in April 1972 in San Antonio, TX and is available on Elvis Close-Up.

@Anthony4x4 You're absolutely correct- ELVIS' covers are BETTER than the originals. I never listened to him sing this one until tonight because I didn't like the song . But I forgot how he had this amazing ability to sing it even BETTER than the original !!! This is just another example of why ELVIS is so LOVED today

I remember driving an old blue GMC truck to the grain field and having trouble crossing a muddy creek when I heard on the Radio that Elvis was gone. I told my father when I got to the field. He never allowed me to listen to Elvis...but ironicaly he seemed sad when Elvis died.
