How does one get in touch with the monastry to participate fully?
-
@jgrisso07 You can make a retreat. You'd be welcome there.

I was once in seminary to be a secular priest, I studied at a Benedictine Abbey. I know the life isn't for me, but there are time where I wish I could just go and be a monk. The struggle of life is so much easier when you jut hand things over to God.

Is this a traditional community? Or plain Jane Novus Ordo? Do they celebrate the one true Mass--the Traditional Latin Mass?

I spent many days here...two of my 3 uncles lived there. One was a Abbot.. A better man never was..... I know that is not true...but, I am so proud of him....and I loved him so much... to me he was just my Uncle Jack, the other one was harder to relate to. Both are buried in that cementary. If you are called to be there, you will just know. There is good and bad in every religion. I look at the person, not the religion. As I said, I had 2 uncles here.they were as different as night and day
i was not raised a Catholic. Are we allowed to convert in order to be a monk?

@scotnick59 Yes, of course. My understanding is that if you are a new convert they want you to wait some time before entering the religious life. First step would be to contact your local Catholic church. God bless.
