@wannabeebee You say that you train, but your mind is wrong. Technical proficiency with a wrong mind is worse than nothing. Karatedo is not about getting in some ring and beating the pulp out of some stranger for a jeering crowd. This is the problem with making martial arts into sports. In sports, as you become more skillful, the more you want to use your skills. In martial arts, this is very dangerous, as you lose sight of the fact that these techniques are for killing and maiming...

Treat your technique like you do your rifle, not like you do your football. There is an expression "a samurai only draws his sword for two reasons," implying to sharped it or to kill with it, not to show it off. That's all that MMA is, is showing it off, and it is a perversion.
