  • howcome the infant inserts have to be removed after a certain amount of time? They've been crash tested so why is it an issue for older kids? Just wondering since the insert seems so comfortable

  • @tinkwink92 I'm not an expert by any means, but I believe the insert is there specifically for infants since they can't support their own heads yet. When babies and kids get older and have head support, they don't need the insert as much - plus it gets in the way once they're moving around a lot. The insert would still be useful if they were sleeping in the seat though.

  • Hi Tyra!

We are still using this seat for my daughter and are still very happy with it. She can now buckle herself in, which helps a great deal too. I'm figuring that we'll keep using the internal harness at least until fall and then see if we want to go to the seatbelt at that point. Hope that helps! :)

  • She's pretty! Just wanted to let you know that the harness needs to be even with or above the shoulders (it looks below) and I can't tell but I think the chest clip needs to be moved up just a smidge. Love the seat!

  • Thanks! :) Yep, they are above her shoulders, but I forget - may have shot the video before I moved them up. Actually now that I think about it - I think it was while shooting the video that I noticed they needed to be raised. :) We do make sure the chest clip is at armpit level when she's riding in the seat. Thanks!!

  • I just noticed that it still had the infant insert in there... make sure to take that out! :)

  • Yep, we have since then - thanks! :)

  • I'm not 100% sure on the insert, we took ours out. But hopefully no one would be using this seat with an infant since its forward having only and it is now suggested (by the AAP) to keep children rear facing until at least the age of two. If have to go through my manual to see about the insert... maybe tomorrow.

  • Thanks for the vid. Just have one question. I been tied up and when I took of the covers for the cars seat I found a small red ejector type string. What is this? Is it needed? I took it off and put the seat back in the car. Just curious what this string with the red handle is for and its somewhat long.

PLEASE if you know what this is let me know. Thanks..

  • @TotallyTyra Hi I am a mom of a 4 year old taht is still 5 point harnessed in this seat and we love it. It is worth the 150 for it. it does Harness till 65 pounds and then backed or backless boosters till 100lbs. We will be using it for another couple of years with the Harness, witch is safer for the child. I am going to get one for my baby when she gets old enough not to be ERF. hope this helps.

  • I'm thinking of purchasing one of these. I see that you did this video back in August 09 so I was wondering if you're still liking this seat...

  • great job mom!! perfect! i bought 3 of these back in February for my 6, 4, & 3 year old! my 3 yr old was 35lbs =( so she couldnt remain rearfacing anymore, But these are amazing!! LOVE LOVE LOVE Them!
