Furious GOC WDG3A with ERS-OKHA Express!

June 27 2010, 0735hrs.
A Golden Rock(GOC) WDG3A #13253 tries to blend in with the green surroundings in vain as it comes honking and chugging furiously with the 6338 Ernakulam - Okha Express. It was diverted to this route from its usual Konkan Railway route because of the incessant rains and landslides in the Western Ghats.

Location: 3.5km from Doddaballapur Station.

@MrNikhilkp I never compare Electric and Diesel locomotives. They just cannot be compared. And yeah WDG3As WERE meant for goods duty but sometimes they are used more often than M or P series locos. It all depends on the availability and what the sheds prefer.

@MrNikhilkp Yeah I know that from the day I started learning about trains. The maximum output produced by all locos is approximately the same? Yeah right. Wonder why IR is making new, MORE POWERFUL locos then. Locos are just like cars. Their power is NEVER the same. A WDP4 rated at around 4132hp will effectively give out about 3800-3900hp after factoring in all intermediate losses.

@dheerajrao you know on engine written WDG , WDP ,WDM on diesl loco means w stands for wide d stands for diesel and Gfor goods P for passenger M for mixed for both goods and passenger................
