I think the first section should be more powerful, try a faster bow and more into the string. Also, be very consistent with your vibrato and take plenty of time on the longer notes. This is a huge beginning, it should be contrasting from the allegro- noble, majestic and very powerful. The recap of the theme should be much softer and gradually crescendo to the climax. And remember to ask your pianist to match your intensity.

I think the hair is awesome! It's helping destroy the image that classical musicians have to be clean cut. Anyone can and should play music, regardless of your outword appearance and personal style. He's not a bad player either. I'm learning this piece now and it's pretty hard for me lol
