http://okapifigmentdroll.blogspot.com/ is my blog.
I recorded this version of this song quite some time ago. The Pictures of Howdy Doody, stuff I picked up off the internet. I put the original version of the song at the credits. In my opinion this song is sort of a lost track by the 1910 Fruitgum Co. & I think it would make J. Kasenetz, J.Katz, & M. Gutkowski pretty happy.

UPDATE: Oct 23 2007. The guy that actually wrote this song contacted me via Youtube. Here is a letter he wrote me about it all... " Hi,
I was kind of amazed to find this on Youtube. It's actually a song I wrote back in 1968, & the recording was never meant to come out, which is why it was so bad. K & K put it backwards on the b side of Indian Giver & DJs started flipping it over & playing it backwards (which was forwards). K & K rerecorded it with The Flying Giraffe on Bell Records, but it didn't do anything. Any way I can get a copy of this? If you want to see the full story behind the song go to http://www.philxmilstein.com/probe/02.htm and find session # 67
Regards, Steve "

All I have to say is Thank You for contacting me about this & it means a lot me that you took the time to contact me. Thanks Again. - Ryan :)

  • i'd like to hear the original reversed.maybe i'm listening to it?i have the 45 and have reverse played it but it just dosen't sound the same?no matter how you slice it its too kool.nice vid.

  • I put the original at the end of this video I am pretty sure. Yeah its in the credits. :-)

  • I have the original 45 rpm record, Buddah label and all. I love Bubble Gum music! It was so weird to hear it at first, until I discovered the song was recorded backwards. Alas, given today's technology, you just can't find a rare gem on the B-side of a CD.

  • Thank you! I agree. :-)

  • Good job on extracting a melody from the original mess. For some inexplicable reason, I loved this song too but it really was awful. It almost sounds like someone was messing with the pitch/tape speed while the recording was going on. Your version is a nice tribute!

  • Yes i agree. The guy who wrote this song. contacted me. Pretty Neat!! I sent a copy of this recording. I hope it made him happy! :)
