Each spring, about 750,000 pregnant bats make their nests in the expansion joints under the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue bridge in Austin, TX. By August, having had their young, the colony swells to about 1.5 million.
This is far from the largest bat colony in the world, but is, instead, the largest colony that lives in an urban area.
This is a poor quality video, taken with my LG Neon phone, but you can make out individuals pretty well at the 31 second and 1:06 marks.
