2001 Blockbuster, "The Fast and the Furious," starring Vin Diesel drove right off the screen and into reality Tues. The movie, about street car racers who hijack trucks and steal their cargo seems to share the M.O. of former NASCAR driver, Jeremy Mayfield. Mayfield was arrested Tuesday when North Carolina police searched his house for suspicion of stolen goods and found more than they had planned. Mayfield had stockpiled methamphetamine, forty guns, and almost $100,000 of misappropriated items.

The former NASCAR star was suspended from the sport in '09 for testing positive during a drug screen, and now has more charges to answer to. Among the stolen assets that were recovered by officials were heavy machinery, metal, welders, and parts of motors. The guns have been released to the ATF to be traced for theft, and the stolen goods returned to their rightful owner. Police suspect Mayfield did not act alone and are hoping an investigation will lead to more arrests.
