What is the purpose of the gesso?

@Moonlitrose9 Gesso is a prima, so expensive paints do not sink into absorbant papers and get wasted. However, it also makes a brilliant blending medium and I use it often to blend out colours, create highlights and texture.

WOW, girl... you totally rock! It is such a joy to watch you create!! I need to find the black pens you use. I always have the problem of my micron pen nibs getting kind of 'gunky' and not working well. OK... off to check out more of your videos. :)
