@Msscpb It became to be a commodity and many wars were settled between african kingdoms and other tribes only to supply the trade but my point is that the white man didn't go to the interior of Africa to hunt slaves, that didn't happen. What happened instead was that they passed by with ships bringing rum, sugar etc leave these products and took the slaves. I'm not trying to legitimize the african slave trade, I'm pointing out that many people have the wrong idea of how it worked out..

I don't want to be cutting off a great song by saying this (and I'm a huge bob marley fan) but marley's lyrics tend to pass the wrong idea that africans were made slaves by the europeans, when actually they were already slaves in the many african kigdoms in west african coast
