I wouldnt take any other dog, no matter what, over a german shepard. I say this after my parents german shepard protected me, when i was 9, from a loose and very angry bull. "Shep" came out of nowhere and jump right onto it. Giving me time to run. damn good dogs (R.I.P. Shep)

One man put it better than I've ever heard it. He said...
"The German Shepherd may not be the best biting dog there is out there. He may not be the best tracking dog, he may not be the best obedience dog. But there is no dog that will do all three better than a German Shepherd will."
And that's the truth. They are extremely versatile.

thanks for the video.. i had a to put my beloved 'beara' down after 13 years ... she helped raise my 2 boys... i wouldn't have any other breed.....
i put her down last july... and even attempted to adopt another dog... that lasted 1 day... i had to return it to kennel... maybe next year i can think about bringing another german shepherd into my life... it's like loosing a family member.. it's really hard.

Border Collies are truly a fine breed and few others can match their intelligence and desire to serve. No one can argue that! However, they are NOT GSD's...GSD's are on a very different level, one which I feel only they occupy....just my simple, humble opinion....

my german shepherd and my 2 little dog's arnt your average dog's well all the dog's that i'ev had werent they all had and have their own personalities

well done with the video. As a German shepherd owner you made me proud

i have had a GSD and i did like him and i like most other GSD - but as i said: I don´t have a real opinion because i don´t care sufficantly for this subject - i just enjoy watching the different dogs and well - i must admitt the GSD appears with his to be one of the smartest ones becaus he seams to be processing in his mind all the time ....
german sheperd is a fine dog but a collie can do the same i think ....

The GSD has the ability to think before it acts...its intelligence has got it working with the K9 unit/protection/guarding/agility/obedience and scent work, due to its patience, thinking and reasoning ability...its capable of herding sheep and far more...in my opinion the border collie is a lovely dog...but it just doesnt match the GSD.but hey we all have opinions thats what makes us unique :-)

sav the big words - Even when i had a (old)german sheperd d. (long hair) once,i haven´t that deep knowlege about other races - and i don´t care to much about which dog is used. I just feel soory about poor Lessy being unemployd ....

Ok thats your opinion...i have my opinion also, hence why i have made a channel dedicated to this breed, i think its fairly obvious the breed i favour!!! P.S they are not 'big' words they are what the GSD is capable of doing im not dressing it up or down if you prefer border collies why are you taking the time to comment on GSD videos...go comment on the breed you like...if you are picking for a arguement stop now because i dont do petty arguements.
