DAGMAR DIWOK - DG Environment, European Commission

Dagmar Diwok has been a consultant for the DG Environment of the European Commission since 1992 and coordinates international projects regarding environmental certification in the tourism sector. She gave an outlook on the current situation of environmental certification for hotels in Europe, and the support given by the EU for its implementation and marketing.

The objective of this workshop was to engage the hotel industry and its service and product suppliers in a discussion about the opportunity and importance of a more environmentally responsible approach to designing, renovating, and operating their properties.
