@QuranTafseer By choosing imperfect people to start his Church, he wanted to show us that he accepts me, you, anybody the way they are. So that is why priests, just like the apostles, even if they are not perfect, can have a special role in the Church by giving the sacraments to people in the name of God and the Church. Some priests of course are better than others. But no matter how good they are, they have the authority to give the sacraments to people, being the heirs of the Apostles.
@QuranTafseer So the Apostles were not perfect, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that these twelve apostles, as imperfect as they were, were the ones Jesus has chosen to carry out his message to the world. Jesus could have chosen flawless people, better people, more holy people, but no: he chose sinners, imperfect and mostly uneducated people. Why? Because Jesus, God made man, loves people the way they are.
@QuranTafseer The Gospels also tell us that the Apostles were far from being perfect. They were sinners too. Judas was a traitor. Peter has denied knowing Jesus three times when the latter was arrested so as not to get into trouble, some Apostles fought over who was the best of the apostles, they turned away children who wanted to approach Jesus, and when Jesus was arrested before being crucified, they all ran away for their lives to hide.
@QuranTafseer However, even if they are sinners, as priests, they have received the sacrament of holy orders, which means that they carry out today what the Apostles carried out back then when Jesus walked on this earth. Overall, a priest is someone who can celebrate and give out the sacraments to the people through the authority they have received from the Church, the Church having received its authority by Jesus himself, as many passages from the Gospels clearly show.
@QuranTafseer Now, to answer your question about why we should confess to priests since they are human beings just like us. You are absolutely right: priests being humans, they are also sinners just like everyone else. Being priests, they should of course try to be as good and holy people as they possible can, but they are and will always remain, as human beings, sinners.
@QuranTafseer God being God, he gives his grace to whoever he wants and through whatever means he chooses. However, because Jesus and his apostles are the ones who have instituted the seven sacraments, we are sure that God gives his graces through them. So that is why sacraments are so important to Christians (at least Christians from Apostolic Churches, not Protestant ones, for instance). I hope this answers your questions. Don't hesitate to ask for more should you have any.
@QuranTafseer Now, the fact that a sacrament gives God's grace doesn't mean that the person's inner disposition, that is what is in his heart, doesn't matter. No. Because the more the heart will be prepared to receive a sacrament, the more effective God's grace will be in that person's soul. So, sacraments of the Church "automatically" give God's grace, but the person receiving must well prepare his heart first. But that doesn't mean that God's grace is only given through a sacrament.
@QuranTafseer However, because we are human, even if you are very sorry from the bottom of your heart, you would like to have a sign that God indeed has accepted your demand for forgiveness. Now, that is what the sacrament of confession is for. With humility, if you approach a priest and ask him for that sacrament, you can be sure that God has accepted your repentance and that he will forgive you. So, this is what sacraments are for: they are materializations of God's love and give his grace.
@QuranTafseer For instance, let's say that you've done something wrong to someone, but that that person has long gone out of your life (ex.: someone whom you don't see anymore because he lives in another country). You feel bad about what you've done to that person years ago but are not in a position to see him to tell him you're sorry. In the bottom of your heart, you can ask God for his forgiveness for having hurt that person. And chances are that God will forgive you, if you are sincere.
What is the name of the song at the beginning of this video? Where can I find the music?
