John King of CNN says he has no opinions

I asked John King of CNN : do you have an opinion on whether we should have gone to war with Iraq ? He said he had no opinions, then later you said he had an opinion, but he only shared Iit with his wife and finally, he said, we would be surprised how few opinions he has because he trains himself not to have opinions.

His first answer contradicts HIS second answer, because if he has no opinions he cannot tell his wife. Secondly, I do not believe he only tells his wife. Does he really expect us to believe that he doesn't discuss his views with his colleagues, or his close friends? It's just not believable. As for being surprised about how few opinions he has, I would hate to have to take him at his word, but if he insists I would. But training yourself not to have an an opinion is like training yourself not to think. Why would anybody want to do this and is it even possible. Anyway, I would put my money on him having plenty of opinions because I don't think you can do this job without having some smarts and opinions based on all his experience. In fact, he strkes me as a smart and friendly man who was nice enough to give us an interview,

Its not a contradiction to keep you opinions "out of the workplace." Context is everything. "He trains himself to have no opinions" is also not the same as "not having any opinions." I'm not debating whether he is truthful, but you failed to show any contradiction. I hope you continue your interviews and I will recommend your vids, but your analysis here is way off.

Jan, I think you've got enough videos now to prove something: that most people are either too philosophically wanting, or too politically savvy, to ever give you the answer you're trying to get out of them. Perhaps it's time to call it a job well done and start using your limited time on this planet more selfishly?

Thank you for your concern. I am doing fine and enjoying life thoroughly. I have enough time and energy to make a public record of the mindset of our politicians and journalists for all of those who want to see in the future. I think it is an important job and nobody else is either willing or able to do it. I will attempt to complete this job in a non sacrificial way. Maybe working to defend freedom and other peoples rights will result in my own immediate self interest. We will see.

Captain Spock, you are taking a very formulaic look at logic. There is no contradiction, because he provided you the context which was different. Context of personal/family vs. reporter. What he is trying to say, it is precise and consistent.

Well as much as I agree that the people you were interviewing are s-umbags, there comes a time that you are beating a dead horse, THEN AGAIN.... maybe that's a good thing, to press on and show them for the sc-mbags that they are... ok I've evolved, now I think it's a good idea to call them out on their B.S.
