UN shocked with continued crises in Somalia By Andualem Sisay www.africanews.com

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and his Special Representative on Somalia case comment Somalias current situation at the press briefings in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia after attending the 12th African Union Summit.
The Secretary General who gets the chance to talk to the new Somalia President Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed said: We count on the leadership of the new President of Somalia. Ban Ki moon also promised to train Somalis police force and ensure the deployment of the full 8,000 peacekeeping forces within a few weeks.
Ould Abdellah, Special Representative of the Secretary General on Somalia issue on his part expressed UNs confusion and shock about the continuous fight in Somalia after the troops of Ethiopia completely left Somalia territory.
For the past two years it has been said by the Somalis we (the armed groups in Somalia) are fighting Ethiopian troops, today Ethiopian soldiers left totally the territory of Somalia on the 15th of January. Unfortunately, in Somalia there are always groups finding a reason to fight, he said.
Mentioning the killings of many Somalis this week by Somalis, Mr. Abdellah said: We all IGAD members states, the UN and independent observers are shocked that Somalis keep finding reason to kill Somalis.
According to Secretary Generals Special representative of Somalis, religion and politics is often mentioned as reasons by the Somali fighters. All Somalis belong to the same religion. To me on behalf of the Secretary General and all my colleagues at the UN, every Somali should take part in the peace process. I am welcoming every Somali. No Somali should have a veto power, he said.
We will not have conferences just for the pleasure to pay conferences and hotels. If people think this will happen, I dont think it will happen, Mr. Abdellah warns the Somalis.
Explaining the real reason behind the fight in Somali, Mr. Abdellah, who deeply took part in negotiating the Somalis in Djibouti, said: we think that those who continued fighting in Somalia have other motives than political.
