@tastyfrzz You sound like a real writer. Not a dreamer or a person who lives in their own fantasies.
I have been a writer for over 16 years and I have written dozens of articles for a few dozen publications. I have written ads. I written proposals for a business and letters for people even a term paper for a college kid.
I have never written a book because I have either nevere had the time or didnt want to take a pay cut.
You are right-not easy. hats off to you for doing it anyway.

One year (according to YouTube) later:
What I wouldn't have given to be a fly on the wall in the same room, at the same time, as Ellison and Carlin.

Part time Cattleman & Farmer. I'm the mofo who's keeping your fat-ass fed! What thanks do I get?--a big middle finger!
Sure do love to fuck. Hey Ladies...
And the universe's too well-organized for indifference. We wouldn't have brains or sexual organs if we're the product of indifference and the like. On the contrary, we're the product of careful nourishment. Fuck Divine Authority! There still is some 'guidance' out there.

And Twain sounds exaggerated to me. Is that what he really said? Too bad I ain't got a list of Mark Twain quotes. And I'm lousy at driving--1 out of 3, but that's b/c I hate driving. Instead I took up alternative pastimes like astrologer.

I've published one book. it even got an award, and what I've learned so far is that it would be very difficult to make a living at writing books. My hat's off to you sir.
Ellison must be the easiest interview in the history of Interviews: Ask him a provocative question, and then sit back and stay out of his way (perhaps thinking about the next provocative question, which you won't need for 10-15 minutes).

The very fact that things are so efficient is part of what allows people to be stupid. How many people in our society do you think actually understand how an MRI works? Besides that, it's entirely possible to be well educated, know how an MRI works, and still be an imbecile. I don't think Harlan was talking about technology, he was talking about people who lack the basic ability to think critically for themselves.
