Alex talks with Jon Ronson, the journalist, author, documentary filmmaker and radio presenter who wrote The Men Who Stare at Goats, a book about the U.S. Army's exploration of New Age concepts and the potential military applications of the paranormal. The book accompanies a three-part TV series broadcast on Channel 4 in Britain, Crazy Rulers of the World, and was adapted to a feature length movie starring George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey.

  • @RonPaulOrDie except he doesn't "debunk" the truth or anything for that matter.

  • of all the debunkers of the truth, Jon is my favorite :)

  • I like these guys talking, Alex is so set in his beliefs and I think Jon never wants to think he knows it all. I don't think they agree on the overall picture, because neither know for sure.

    But still, very good chat.

  • Jon Ronson has such a unique voice.

  • I watched Secret Rulers Of The World when it was shown on channel 4 in 2001.

  • I would also add however deep and broad these conspiricies go the question about who is fighting for overall control is very much worth asking!

if he hasn't allready that would make a good starting point for a new book jon!

  • What's also interesting is they both agree on the world goverment angle:- the question again comes down to motive:- I think what jon is missing is his starting point :- jon is starting this in the 50s when this seems to have gone full throttle at the turn of the 20th century! I think jon Is thinking this started off good and went bad but I would say there is strong evidence to sugest that it was always bad !

  • INTERESTING :- both seem to be missing the point a little:- that being:- that it's not if people did or didn't conspire it's who and for what?!

Take 911/- I'm sure jon and alex could agree that there was a CONSPIRICY:/ after that you look into the evidence for who did it and for what motive! The evidence points to a controled demolition So who could have done that? Ect ect..

  • What I thought was really INTERSTING was the use of the word CONSPIRICY! I think Ronson would agree that 911 was conspired:- the real question is:-who was in control of that conspiricy and for what motive?!

Though jon did bring up some interesting points on compeating interests,( I think that picture is still very fuzzy)

  • The book "The Men Who Stare at Goats" and its accompanying TV seres "Crazy Rulers of the World" were very good. It's a shame that "Them" was such a lousy piss-take! The episode with David Icke was awful! It failed to explore anything interesting about Icke's work and focused on the age-old: "is David 'Antee-Suh-Mittick'" line. No he's not! Now can we get on with the programme? "Nope! We need to ask again if he's against Jews." Yawn!

  • Uh oh. Sottish and UK are about to go to war. I got my money on Scottish. You can't beat William Wallace.

"They may take our lives. But they will never take our FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!"

    =-)

  • Aggressive? It's called sarcasm. This guy posts comments on videos just to start arguments because he believes he's intelligent. Since this childish argumenmt on this video, I have PMed this tosser and discovered he's a sad know-it-all who doesn't actually know alot.

Why do yoiu feel the need to ask that question? I was 'driven' to aggression by a sad troll. He slags of anything that doesn't fit his LibLabCon mainstream viewpoint. He's naive at best.

    1st comment is real though.

  • @FreedomFighterUK

Why are you so agressive? Just a question.

  • That's; FAGGOT. I'm hetrosexual conspiracy boy.

  • Just what I'd expect an agent to say. Always trying to silence descent. You must be a new shill at MI5.

And how dare you talk about my mum; my mum's dead. She was assassinated in Sainsbury's by CIA assets when she got too close to the Truth. Maybe someone you work with. FAGGIT!

  • You're paranoid conspiracy nut. Go masterbate in Mummys' basement. How's the tinfoil hat?

  • Yea whatever disinfo agent.

  • Why are you here again favouriting this video then slagging it off? Get a fucking life!

  • A coworker loaned me the "Them : Adventures with extremists" by mister Ronson because I read books and am thoughtful. He was hoping to maybe put me in my place with it. All I can say is that I prefer The 4 Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, and Tales from the Timeloop by D.I. Decide for yourself. Much peace and respect.

  • Or perhaps because he can recognize a bullshit artist when he sees one? :'(

  • did he style his look on penfold from danger mouse?
