Great point. In fact during backward crossovers there are 2 points where you are gliding on one skate. Once on the inside edge and once on the outside edge. So its important to practice balance on both the inside and outside edges while one one skate going backward.

Thanks for explaining the c cut and the x push. You really broke down backward crossovers clearly.

Did you use dartfish for the drawings? great video, thanks a bunch!

Nice video, thanks. Are you using dartfish for the drawings? If not what are you using?

Good explanation. I wanted to add that you should press onto the outside edge when cross-pushing. This is harder push. Person in the video is doing very good crossovers.

Excellent point. The hardest part is properly using the outside edge of the toe of the skate. You have to really dig in that outside edge and then shift the weight to the side of the toe at the end of the push. That is the only way to maximize your power.

yeh loweing ur center of balance helps with stability, nbut if im practicing this slower, will i take smaller strides? coz the lack of speed would lessen the momentup holdin u up if u get me?

Actually you don't need the speed to hold you up because you are not leaning into the circle during the crossovers. If you lean in, then you rely on the centrifugal force from the turn to keep you up, however you cannot get as strong of pushes that way. If you lean your upper body out, the speed is not an issue.
The only problem with doing this slowly is you get such powerful and strong pushes that you really can't go slowly.
